Setting up mail in Outlook (English)

We advise you to use at least Outlook 2016. Unfortunately, we can no longer support older versions

Setting up IMAP emailaccounts:

The following steps show you how to set up your IMAP emailaccount in Outlook.

Step 1: Open Outlook Open Outlook on your Windows PC by clicking on the Outlook icon on your desktop or by searching for “Outlook” in the search box on the taskbar.

2: Go to “Account Settings” Click on “File” in the top navigation bar of Outlook and select “Account Settings” from the dropdown menu.

3: Choose “Add Account” Click on “New” in the “Account Settings” window. Then, select “Email Account” and click “Next”.

4: Enter the Account Details Enter the following information:

Your name: your full name as you want it to appear in emails Email address: your email address Password: your email password Click on “Manual setup or additional server types” and then click “Next”.

5: Choose the Account Type Select “IMAP” and click “Next”.

6: Configure the Server Settings Enter the following information:

Incoming email server: mail.example.com Outgoing email server: mail.example.com User Name: your full email address Password: your email password Click on “More Settings”.

7: Configure the Server Ports Go to the “Outgoing Server” tab. Select “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”. Then, go to the “Advanced” tab.

Enter the following information:

Incoming server (IMAP): 993 Encrypted Connection: SSL/TLS Outgoing server (SMTP): 587 Encrypted Connection: STARTTLS Click “OK”.

8: Test the Account Settings Click on “Test Account Settings”. Outlook will now test the account settings to verify everything is set up correctly. If there are no issues, click “Finish”.

Congratulations, you have now set up your IMAP email account in Outlook on a Windows PC!
