Adding an emailaccount on an android device #
Step 1: Open the email app #
Open the default email app on your Android device.
Step 2: Add a new account #
Tap on the “Menu” button (the three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen and tap “Settings”. Tap “Manage accounts” and tap “Add account”.
Step 3: Enter the account details #
Enter your email address and password, and tap “Sign in”. Make sure to choose “Manual setup” if prompted.
Step 4: Choose “IMAP account” #
Choose “IMAP account” as the account type.
Step 5: Configure the server settings #
Enter the following information for the server settings:
Incoming server: mail.example.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL/TLS
Enter the following information for the outgoing server:
Outgoing server: mail.example.com
Port: 587
Security type: STARTTLS
Tap “Sign in” to proceed.
Step 6: Set the synchronization settings #
Set the synchronization settings as desired and tap “Next”.
Step 7: Give the account a name #
Give the account a name and tap “Done” to complete the configuration.
Congratulations, your IMAP email account is now set up in the default email app on your Android device! You can now start sending and receiving emails.
